The Director of Warwick Ventures, Ederyn Williams, has been given a Queen’s Award for Achievement in Enterprise Promotion in recognition of the role he has played over the past 18 years in developing knowledge transfer from universities to businesses in the UK.

Williams’ major activities include managing the technology transfer company of Leeds University for nine years. In 2000 he became the founding Director of Warwick Ventures, the technology transfer office of Warwick University, which he runs today.

The citation says Williams “has proved himself to be a successful long-term practitioner of knowledge transfer who has taken two universities, Leeds and Warwick, into the forefront of effective university spin-out”.
