In July, the European Commission announced its long-awaited plans for the tenth research Framework Programme (FP10), which is set to start in 2028.
The top-line figures sounded promising: the proposed budget is €175 billion over seven years, a significant increase on the original €95.5 billion budget for the existing programme, Horizon Europe, although this is lower than the Commission's advisors recommended
