Coefficient Giving is looking to improve the welfare of trillions of fish killed each year

The US philanthropic organisation Coefficient Giving is offering to fund research and protypes that would improve the welfare of fish during slaughter.
The $7 million funding call, open until July 1, is looking for technologies and prototypes that can make fish unconscious before death in a way that is immediate, lasting and practical to use in real-world conditions, both in farms and wild fisheries.
The call places an emphasis on approaches that can work in tough settings, such as small fishing vessels, and can handle large volumes of wild-caught fish.
Coefficient Giving’s goal is to fund research that is as impactful as possible in an area that receives relatively little attention.
