Participation is down, but there is more money, especially for partners in low and middle income countries
“As open as possible, as close as necessary” is the mantra for international collaboration under Horizon Europe. And looking at the participation of international partners, it seems that the EU has indeed become more selective.
According to the data, the number of international partners from non-associated countries is falling slightly programme-on-programme. While there were 6,802 participations across the whole of Horizon 2020, these countries participated 3,129 times during the first half of Horizon Europe.
