A new sports-consulting firm became the 100th spin-out company incubated by Télécom Paris, a French engineering school.
The firm, Cemes, was founded by Télécom Paris student Jocelyn Précheur. It offers health and training-consulting services to athletes and sports clubs.
The company is being incubated by the school's entrepreneurship organisation. Of the 100 spin-outs aided by Télécom Paris Entrepreneurs, 80 are still active and seven of those have been acquired by larger companies, the school said in a statement. In all, 741 jobs have been created by the start-ups, and the school recently announced plans to launch a second incubation facility in Sophia Antipolis.
Télécom Paris is a member of ParisTech, the association of France's Grandes Écoles in science and engineering.
