Funding round completed

Intelligent Wound Care Ltd, a spin-out from the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London, raised £270,000 in its second funding round.

The company is developing devices to measure various physiological parameters allowing clinicians to make an informed assessment of the functional status of tissues and organs.

The devices will assist in early identification and tracking of pathological conditions during clinical and surgical procedures, and following surgery.

Intelligent Wound Care is currently finalising the manufacture of a number of prototypes, which will then be installed in clinical settings to demonstrate the device can help to improve outcomes. These trials are expected to take around six months.

The money came from the quoted technology management company Ipso Ventures, which has now invested a total of £540,000 in Intelligent Woundcare.
