Funding opportunities

Imperial Innovations Group plc has formed a $1 million proof of concept programme funded by Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Ltd, a diversified conglomerate that includes the oldest construction company in India.

The programme will validate and accelerate the development of emerging technologies at Imperial College London. Imperial Innovations will manage the programme, including the recommendation, selection and commercial assessment of the projects. There will be a particular focus on technologies that are suitable for joint development with Shapoorji, and which may lead to market applications and follow-on joint development opportunities in India.

The fund will run for two years and will support three to five projects running between 12 and 18 months. Priority will be given to applications in the built environment that focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The creation of the programme builds on Imperial Innovations’ ongoing activities in India, including the recent formation of i2india, a technology commercialisation company.
