Funding opportunity

Small businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations in the North-West of England are being invited to apply for £3,000 of government-funded business support. Help is available for trialling new products or technologies, and with marketing and intellectual property protection issues.

The North West Development Agency’s Innovation Voucher scheme helps small firms tap into expertise and services in universities and further education colleges across the region. In total, support worth £1.4 million is available, and more than 1,100 businesses are expected to sign-up to the scheme.

The second round of applications opened on 12th January 2009. One of the organisations supporting the scheme is the University of Manchester Incubator Company, which aims to help applicants access academic expertise within the university.
