The venture investing firms Gimv and Agri Investment Fund have launched the Gimv Agri+ Investment Fund to invest in technology companies in the agricultural and related sectors in the Benelux and neighbouring countries.

The fund is to be managed by Gimv’s Life Sciences team with support from AIF’s agricultural specialists. The Gimv Agri+ Investment Fund may look for further institutional investors at a later stage.

The new fund is looking to invest in companies in the green and white biotechnology, green energy, environmental technology, biotechnology connected to veterinary medicine, services, new marketing structures and concepts, processing capacity for new crops or products, and foods for humans and animals.

The level of investment will vary from €2.5 to €10 million, either as a minority or majority shareholding. Gimv Agri+ Investment Fund can invest in all growth phases of a company, acting as a long-term partner, with the fund’s 12-year lifespan emphasising this long-term vision.
