Mari Walls, PhD, formerly the first President of the new Tampere University and Director General of the Natural Resources Institute of Finland, will join CSC to lead cooperation with research organizations and academic partnerships.
CSC aims to build and strengthen international and global network of partnerships, which will contribute to anchor international projects supporting scientific computing, digitalization, green transition and innovation.
"Close cooperation between research organizations or and the strengthening of academic partnerships is important to us, as is the stronger integration of global cooperation (MoUs) into the Finnish research and higher education landscape. I am delighted to have Mari Walls and her strong expertise on research organizations to strengthen our team in this strategically meaningful area," says Kimmo Koski, Managing Director of CSC.
"I am excited about this new role in driving forward national and international research collaboration, service development and impact. CSC is an internationally respected player and CSC's strong role in the LUMI consortium, for example, will provide a boost for moving forward with collaborative and development projects. Mari Walls reports to Managing Director Kimmo Koski and will become a member of the CSC management group. Walls will take up her position on 14th August 2023.
