The ACU joins global movement to deliver the SDGs through higher education

26 Jul 2018 | Network Updates

The ACU is proud to join the Global Alliance of universities working together to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As an official endorsing partner of the SDG Accord, the ACU will further its commitment to support sustainable development through education across the Commonwealth.

Higher education institutions are crucial to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), whether through carrying out ground-breaking research or teaching and nurturing the next generation of leaders – their contributions will be essential.

Through our benchmarking programme – ACU Measures – and range of projects, programmes and policy networks, the ACU is uniquely placed to help its members report on progress towards achieving the SDGs.

What is the SDG accord?

'The SDG Accord' is the university and college sectors collective response to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It aims to inspire, celebrate and advance the critical role that education has in delivering the SDGs and highlight the value it brings to governments, business and wider society.
