The UK, Switzerland and New Zealand have sent a joint letter to the European Commission warning against diluting the independence of the next research Framework Programme, FP10, which is set to start in 2028.
EU member states, universities and other research institutions are currently fretting that the Commission will fold FP10 into a broader Competitiveness Fund, which would focus on innovation, growth and technological autonomy.
