A Swiss foundation is looking to fund high-impact, out-of-the-box ideas from around Europe

The Swiss Velux Stiftung foundation has opened a call for novel forest management projects that help adapt to climate change and foster biodiversity. Two types of projects will be funded: research generating new knowledge and science-practice projects that transfer existing knowledge.
For each type, the foundation is looking for at least two principal investigators to cooperate, with knowledge transfer projects requiring stakeholder organisations to participate.
Both types of projects require a strong knowledge transfer component. The science-practice projects must produce tools or resources, and the research projects must spend at least 10% of their budgets on knowledge transfer.
The call is open to principal investigators affiliated with institutions in EU member states, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the UK.
