ERC and MSCA may be called on to support major strategic projects with a research and innovation component

When the European Commission presented its proposal for the next iteration of Horizon Europe on July 16, it put an end to months of uncertainty around the continuation of a standalone Framework Programme. But it also raised new questions around links to the future European Competitiveness Fund (ECF), including plans to launch a series of “moonshot” projects designed to position Europe as a global leader in strategic fields.
