With the UK paying in to Horizon Europe, there will be more funding for the European Research Council in 2025
The European Research Council (ERC) has announced €2.7 billion worth of calls for 2025 in its newest work programme, up from €2.3 billion in 2024.
The increase is thanks to associated countries, in particular the UK, finally joining the programme and paying in.
And the UK is back with a bang, winning the most grants in the latest Proof of Concept call, announced by ERC today.
For next year, the first of the 2025 calls opening this week is €751 million in Starting Grants – the biggest of the bunch – for researchers who completed their PhD two to seven years ago.
