ESADE professor Wim Vanhaverbeke honoured as a top 50 innovation author

ESADE visiting professor and open innovation expert Dr. Wim Vanhaverbeke has been honoured as one of the world's top 50 authors on innovation and technology management.

Granted by the International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT), this international award acknowledges Dr. Vanhaverbeke’s research excellence and ongoing contributions to the fields of innovation and technology.

"This recognition wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment and cooperation of my co-authors. It proves that surpassing university boundaries is crucial in academic collaborations," said Dr. Vanhaverbeke.

The IAMOT award was based on a quantitative analysis of research published in leading academic journals between 2008 and 2012.

Dr. Vanhaverbeke’s research focuses on open innovation in SMEs, innovation ecosystems and the implementation of open innovation practices. He is the author of several books on innovation and his research outcomes have been published in many top international journals.

Dr. Vanhaverbeke’s paper on open innovation in SMEs, which was published in Technovation in 2009, was the most downloaded article of this journal in 2013.
 
About Dr. Wim Vanhaverbeke 

Dr. Wim Vanhaverbeke is a professor at the University of Hasselt. He is also a visiting professor at ESADE Business School and the National University of Singapore. He has published his work in several international journals and is co-editor, with Henry Chesbrough and Joel West, of Open Innovation: Researching a New Paradigm, a book about the research challenges related to open innovation.
As a dedicated open innovation researcher, he collaborates with various partners at universities and companies around the globe. He established the European Innovation Forum with Henry Chesbrough in 2012.
He is a highly sought-after speaker at leading international conferences and an adviser to several globally operating companies. He is currently co-editing a new book about open innovation that will be published in 2013.
