Marc Decramer appointed head of University Hospitals Leuven

The Executive Board of University Hospitals Leuven (commonly known by its Dutch name UZ Leuven) has appointed Professor Marc Decramer as Chairman of the University Hospitals Leuven Management Committee.

Subsequently, the Board of Governors of KU Leuven has appointed Professor Marc Decramer as a member of the Executive Board of University Hospitals Leuven. He will carry the title of Managing Director within that body. 

Professor Marc Decramer will take up his new position on 1 August 2013.

Professor Marc Decramer (°1953), a pulmonologist, has been affiliated with University Hospitals Leuven since 1984. He was promoted to Full Professor at KU Leuven’s Faculty of Medicine in 1992.

He has also served at the helm of various national and international scientific associations.

From 2001-2007, he was Programme Director for KU Leuven’s medical school curriculum. From 2004 to 2009, he led the Clinical Research and Education Council at University Hospitals Leuven.
