TU Austria

‘feel. tech. europe.’ – with this claim, TU Austria, the alliance of the three Austrian Universities of Technology, is setting new standards in research, teaching and higher education policy.

Technology and the natural sciences are key drivers of progress, economic growth, and societal prosperity.

Since 2010, the three founding members of TU Austria – TU Wien, TU Graz, and TU Leoben – have combined their strengths to create a powerful national and international partner for science, industry, and policy. By leveraging synergies, the alliance advances excellence in research and teaching and strengthens Austria’s position as a leading technology hub.

TU Austria offers cutting-edge technical degree programs to national and international students in a country renowned worldwide for its outstanding quality of life.

Since 2025, the alliance has been further strengthened by associate members: the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Johannes Kepler University Linz, the BOKU University, and the Faculty of Engineering Science of the University of Innsbruck.

As a highly connected and visible university forum, TU Austria is committed to strengthening the role of Austria’s universities of technology at national and international levels, with a focus on:

  • Excellence in Research & Education – advancing top-level research and educating future leaders in science and technology
  • Innovation & Knowledge Transfer – translating scientific excellence into (green) technologies and societal impact
  • Collaboration & Interdisciplinarity – fostering strong partnerships with research organisations, industry, and policymakers worldwide
  • Regional Impact & Competitiveness – contributing to Austria’s and Europe’s economic strength through close ties with global industry
  • Sustainability – embedding sustainability across research, education, and application
