Marie Arsenian Henriksson has been named the new academic vice president for research and chair of the Committee for Research at Karolinska Institutet as of March 1, following a decision by KI's president on February 21.

She is currently vice chair on the same committee and replaces Martin Bergö, who has been appointed KI’s new vice-president.

”I am humbled by the trust invested in me, and look forward to taking on the assignment with my competent and enthusiastic colleagues,” says Marie Arsenian Henriksson, professor of molecular tumour biology at KI since 2010.

She was also head of the Department of Microbiology, Tumour and Cell Biology from 2006 to 2016 and faculty representative on the University Board from 2019 to 2021. She has also been a member of KI’s Recruitment Committee since 2021.
