The CERN Open Science Office has released its inaugural Open Science Report, which reviews the Organization's progress in implementing its Open Science Policy from 2023 to 2024. The policy, published in 2022, unified grassroots efforts of the CERN community to make the research output of the Organization more widely accessible.

The report reflects the collective efforts of all Open Science practitioners across the Organization towards seven key aspects of the policy: open access to publications, open data and reuse, open source software and hardware, research integrity and reproducibility, open science infrastructures, the reform of research assessment, educational outreach initiatives and citizen science.

Highlighting CERN’s evolving commitment to ensuring scientific knowledge serves as a common good, the report emphasises the importance of transparent, accessible and collaborative research practices.
