Former Italian prime minister proposes One Market Act, including free flow of research and innovation, and 28th company regime

EU leaders suggested they are finally ready to address barriers within the single market, after meeting with former Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letto during an informal retreat at Alden Biesen in Belgium on February 12.

Letta is the author of a report published in April 2024 calling for a revamped single market that includes a “fifth freedom” dedicated to the free movement of research, innovation, knowledge and education.
