Science|Business is a media and communications company specialised in the EU research and innovation (R&I) policy landscape, supported by an international Network that brings together 70 companies, universities and public research organisations. Our Network meets regularly to debate, and draw public attention to, important policy issues in international research and innovation. Members include Sanofi, Microsoft, Business Finland, Imperial College London, ETH-Zurich, CERN, Fraunhofer, the Quebec Research Fund, RIKEN and the South African Department of Science & Innovation. We are looking to expand our Network team from March 2021, with a primary focus on strengthening member intelligence and engagement, supporting the operational execution of projects and events, and raising the Network’s visibility to an international audience of R&I professionals. The successful candidate will work closely with our Network Director and other staff members on the portfolio of tasks outlined below.

Main tasks

  • Managing communications with Network members to support the delivery of annual membership benefits
  • Organising physical and virtual Network events (from closed-door meetings to large conferences); and supporting the organisations of other events
  • Managing member data and contact information in the company’s CRM system
  • Improving visibility and engagement of members on all our online platforms
  • Identifying key innovation stakeholders (from academia, industry and policy) across the world in specific research and technology areas
  • Conducting background research to support the company’s projects
  • Providing administrative support and general office work

Profile requirements

  • A university or advanced degree (ideally in EU Affairs or Communications)
  • Fluency in English and French – German a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications – experience with a CRM a plus
  • Previous experience with membership organisations a plus
  • A good understanding of the European institutions
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • An interest in the EU Research and Innovation policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanour
  • Team player
