Oettinger: Europe will switch to 5G in early 2020s

The bilateral agreements on 5G between the EU and countries like the US, China, Japan and South Korea will help establish open partnerships between researchers, setting up standardisation rules and common progress timetables, EU commissioner for digital economy Gunther Oettinger told the press at the ICT 2015 Summit in Lisbon. All of this will speed up the transition to the next generation of wireless communications.
