The Golden Triangle Partnership, representing networking organisations in Cambridge, London and Oxford, has announced the signing of an agreement with BIOCOM.

The Golden Triangle Partnership, a collaboration between the three UK life sciences and healthcare networking organisations in Cambridge, London and Oxford, announced at the BIO conference in Chicago the signing of an agreement with BIOCOM, the Southern California life science industry association, under which the associations will encourage collaboration and promote interaction amongst their members.

“The Golden Triangle Partnership represents 80 per cent of the UK life science industry, providing members with real opportunities to network, partner and collaborate,” said Harriet Fear, Chief Executive of ERBI, which represents member companies in Cambridge and London. ERBI and the London Biotechnology Network announced last week that they are merging to form a single entity, with offices in Cambridge and London.

The agreement builds on the Golden Triangle’s existing collaborations with two other US biotech organisations, MassBio and MasMEDIC. “The intention is to increase deal flow with companies and investors in Southern California by facilitating introductions and presenting opportunities,” said Tony Jones, Director of the London Biotechnology Network.

Joe Panetta, President and CEO of BIOCOM, said, “Southern California and the Golden Triangle are the two most active life science clusters in the world. We are delighted to offer our members opportunities to collaborate and partner with the UK’s leading life sciences companies.” BIOCOM is the largest regional life science association in the world, representing more than 550 member companies in Southern California.
