researcher with a good idea, what’s the best way to get it used by
society at large? For society and the economy at large, are lots of
university spin-outs good – or are they a diversion from research?
- How to raise the capital? If you’re planning a spin-out, how do you go about raising the money? Can multinationals be a help? Should governments or the universities themselves be helping more?
- How do you avoid failure? Tips from the experts on what to do, and not do, when setting up or managing a spin-out.
- How do you change culture? It’s often said that the biggest obstacle to spin-out formation is right on campus, with the attitudes of colleagues and administrators. How can a university create a culture that fosters entrepreneurship?
