Modelling Europe's Energy Future
The EU Energy Roadmap is based on optimistic assumptions. An energy policy for a resilient transition requires an open and transparent reference model that is fed by a fair assessment of the cost and capabilities of (existing and future) technologies.
Supported by GE, this study was conducted during the summer of 2012 and entailed a review of 10 international energy models and interviews with 19 industry and academic energy experts.
It compared their views of future technology costs with the assumptions underlying the EU Energy Roadmap 2050.
